Villasimius in Sardinia Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in Europe (image courtesy of Wynand van Poortvliet/Unsplash). I will never forget that meal, the view from the window, and most of all, the kindness shown to a stranger who very much needed the gesture. One of the things I love the most about Italy, and that makes me proud of being Italian, is its incredible beaches. I love the romance, the food, the language, La Dolce Vita of Italy – I could easily see myself retiring in a villa in Portofino; spending my days painting landscapes and still lives; and evenings making pasta by hand.

When my new friend learned I was heading to the five seaside towns of Cinque Terre, she gave me the name of a friend who owned a restaurant there that she recommended I try. This week I'm so excited to be joining the Dolce Vita Blogger link up, hosted by Kelly from italianatheart. As this was my very first vacation overseas, I was terrified that I would not be able to find my way around. Using your words, I like Rome, Venice, and Florence, I LOVE the smaller cities, towns, and villages of Italy. Out of her class of mixed Italians and Americans at Università Roma Tre, one of her classmates was doing the project with her and asked us if she could invite one of her (cute) (single) friends over. But, actually traveling through Italy, it wasn’t just the famous sites that brought history to life for me. Over the centuries Italian wordsmiths expanded its meaning to irresistible romantic love or any single-minded pursuit that combines challenge and rebirth. I remember not only the fabulous scenery, the emerald water of the lake, the Alpine mountains, luxurious villas, and divinely delicious food, but also the feeling of “the art of living” and “dolce vita” that was in the air. It isn’t just a great place for a photo opportunity but the town Como is also a fantastic place if you want to grab something to eat and experience Italian food whilst you’re there (probably one of my absolute favorite cuisines!

I was 17, I’d been studying Spanish my whole life at in public school and still couldn’t manage to put a string of words together.

Italy, a land of enchantment and beauty, has long captured the hearts of people from around the world. Each craftsperson puts their own spin on the design so no two pairs of Teste di Moro are exactly alike. I’m totally in love with this stunning country for a lot of different reasons and I have been to Italy uncountable times. For instance, you can fly into Milan and immediately go to Lake Maggiori, or fly into Venice and immediately go to Padova.

In the good old days, the Squire was rather good, being such a tall big guy he had numerous learners banging into him, a bit like having a wall on the ski field 🙂 Amazing photos of Italy! People, mostly women, from India, Africa, Singapore, and across the United States and Canada have written to me asking for information and advice about how to date or marry an Italian man. Venice and Cinque Terre are both high up on the list, just now reading your descriptions has prompted it even more! We offer FREE PRIVATE HIRE of our upstairs room for up to 25 people Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are highly recommended.

Flash forward a couple of semesters and months later, I was loving life as an American study abroad student. Dolce Vita and the art of living, here is why I fall in love with Italy, again and again, every time I visit it. If you have a day in Florence, how about letting me take you to see something special TBA – a little known fresco or something – and doing a quick interview for one of the blogs of Tuscany’s official social media team? Highlights from October’s Spotlight on Italy: Umbria In October, we chose the off-the-beaten path region of Umbria as the focus of our “Spotlight On Italy” monthly series.
