I've skimmed the kindle version i bought for a quick overview and like this very sensible approach to trying to lose weight but without sacrificing flavour, and still having a reasonable size portion. I like Tom and his usually unpretentious recipes, we watched the accompanying TV programme and bought the book, as, for health reasons, I need some food with flavour, as chemotherapy has numbed mine, but agave and yuzo! Recipes include warm halloumi salad; salt and pepper squid; sweet potato and black bean burritos; sticky pork chops; and baked doughnuts with sweet five-spice dust. It’s impossible to stick to a diet if the food you’re expected to eat is boring and doesn’t fill you up.

The recipes are easy to follow, but don't expect them to be quick to execute, quite a few of them require quite a bit of preparation, but as most dishes are well suited for freezing I don't think that is a problem. Recipes include Southern-style chicken; One-layer lasagne; Chicken tikka masala; Lamb doner kebab; Beef stroganoff; Sweet potato and black bean burritos; Sticky pork chops; and Baked doughnuts with sweet five-spice dust. The focus is on the food that we can and should be eating to lose weight, which is easy to make and won't make you feel as though you are missing out. Would highly recommend this Recipe Book for those who want to eat great food without blowing the calorie allowance. This is a lower-calorie diet with a difference – it's based on hunger-satisfying portions of delicious, lower-calorie dishes that taste amazing. With a full vegetarian section, and even low calorie, but not restricted desserts, this is a life saviour for sure.

One of two other highly lauded diet books seem to consist of meals that whilst are low in calories, do not seem to contain that many healthy ingredients.
